I am a Lithuanian composer currently based in Austria. My creative interest lies within documentary approaches in music, telling stories and working with voice. Vocal music and staged vocal works are my beloved forms; recorded speech has been a central inspiration point in the last years.

My work has been commissioned and premiered by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, Apartment House and Les Métaboles choir among others; at the venues such as Deutsche Oper Berlin (as winner of competition Neue Szenen VI), Wigmore Hall (London) and Opéra national de Montpellier.

Most notable residencies include Young Women Opera Makers residency at the Académie du Festival d’Aix, Akademie Musiktheater heute (AMH) der Deutsche Bank Stiftung, Hållnäs Konstkoloni (Sweden) and Paroles & musique at the Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier.   

curation:
I am a (co-)founder and/or curator of various contemporary music organisations, including Melos New Vocal Music Collective, Muzika erdvėje Festival of Site-specific music, Kontaktas Vilnius New and Experimental Music series as well as School for Music Creativity Muzikalke.

education:
I have studied at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz (with Franck Bedrossian), University of Melbourne, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Vilnius Academy of the Arts. Attended courses Voix Nouvelles Royaumont (FR), Darmstadt (DE), Synthetis (PL), Impuls (AT) and others.
